Spencer Fung was appointed Group Chief Executive Officer in July 2014 and is Li & Fung’s seventh CEO since its establishment in 1906. Spencer has been an Executive Director since 2008. Previously, he was the Group Chief Operating Officer with responsibility for building the company’s global infrastructure.

Since joining Li & Fung 14 years ago as a merchandiser, Spencer has been involved in all aspects of the group’s operations, from liaising with factories across Asia and conducting quality control inspections to serving customers across three continents and managing acquisitions and integrations in over 20 countries. During his time as President of LF Europe, Spencer built the largest European Principal Trading business.

Spencer began his career as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with PwC in Boston. He then co-founded HelloAsia.com, a Silicon Valley startup with $30 million of venture capital funding and created one of the first pan-Asian online marketing platforms.

Spencer is an independent Non-Executive Director of Swire Properties Limited, a Director of the Young Presidents’ Organization and a member of the General Committee of The Hong Kong Exporters’ Association. He is also a member of the Consultative Committee on Economic and Trade Co-operation between Hong Kong and Mainland China and the Board of Trustees at Northeastern University.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard College and a Master of Science in

Accounting and Master in Business Administration from Northeastern University. He is a US Certified Public Accountant.

Born in 1973, Spencer is the eldest son of Victor Fung, Honorary Chairman of Li & Fung, and a nephew of Group Chairman, William Fung. He is the fourth generation of the Fung family to lead the business. He lives in Hong Kong.

Previously, he has lived in the US, Spain, Japan, China and the UK, where he served on the Advisory Board of the British Fashion Council and the Committee of The Hong Kong Association (London).
